E-Mail attachments technology is the standard method for sending
documents, pictures, and multimedia files over the internet. What follows
are simple instructions for handling attachments in a variety of mail clients.
WebAccess
To view an attachment with WebAccess first open the message that contains the
attachment by clicking on it in the message listing of your INBOX. (You
will know which messages contain attachments because a paperclip will be shown
in the message listing)
Depending on the file type, WebAccess can view the file before you download it.
To view an attachment, click on the name of the attachment in the Part(s)
section of the message.
If the file can be viewed by WebAccess, a new window will appear containing the
opened attachment. If however, WebAccess cannot view the attachment, then it will
be downloaded when the link is clicked.
If you would like to just download the file and not view it, you can click the
floppy disk icon located directly to the right of the attachment.
Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, MacOS Mail
For mail clients such as Thunderbird, Outlook, and MacOS Mail, and
all you need to do is double click on the attachment icon
displayed with the message. This will download the file(s) to the
your computer. Once the download is complete you can double-click the file to
access it.
Pine
Attachment handling in Pine is cumbersome and somewhat complicated. For this reason we recommend you use one of our other supported mail clients
when handling attachments.
