Settings

To begin setting up your iPhone, open the "Settings" app.

Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Scroll down to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section.

Add Account...

Select the "Add Account..." section.

Other

Select an account type of "Other".

New Account

Here you'll need to enter your account information:

Name:	[your name]
Address:	UCSBnetID@umail.ucsb.edu
Password:	[your password]
Description:	U-Mail

Save Settings

Touch the "Save" button in the upper-right-hand corner. Your iPhone will display the status "Looking up account information".

Account Type

Next ensure that the account type of IMAP is selected.

Incoming Mail Server

Scroll down to the Incoming Mail Server section and input the following settings:

Host Name:	incoming.umail.ucsb.edu
User Name:	UCSBnetID
Password:	[your password]

Outgoing Mail Server

Enter the following information for the

Host Name:	outgoing.umail.ucsb.edu
User Name:	UCSBnetID
Password:	[your password]

Verify Information

Your iPhone will display the status "Verifying IMAP account information" as it checks to ensure that your settings are valid.

Finishing Up

Your settings are now complete; exit the Settings app and launch Mail.

You'll now see U-Mail in your list of accounts – click this to begin accessing your account.
