The UCSBnetID is your unique identifier for the duration of your career at
UCSB and is meant to be permanent. However, exceptions may be granted in
certain circumstances. Valid qualifications for having your UCSBnetID reissued
include:
- legal name changes
- data processing errors
- hardship cases
- first time requests from graduate students
If your reason for requesting a new UCSBnetID matches one of the above
qualifications, you can use the
UCSBnetID Reissue
Request System
to submit your request.
Once your request has been submitted it will be reviewed within five business
days. You will be notified whether or not your request is approved.
If your request is approved, U-Mail staff will coordinate a date and time for
the transition to take place. Other campus systems that use the UCSBnetID may
take up to two weeks to update your account.
Once your UCSBnetID has been reissued, your previous UCSBnetID will no longer
be active.
As a result, your U-Mail account address will change;
e-mail sent to your old e-mail address will be returned to sender.
